So you’ve got a great new marketing strategy, with lots of great tactics you can execute to grow your business. The problem is, you’re still a small business owner, which means you’ve got more ideas than time. GlueEd follows the Duct Tape Marketing System, which encourages marketing automation to make sure you stay on track with your goals. Here are two easy ways you can automate your marketing to make it work better for you:

Schedule blog posts

In his Duct Tape Marketing book, John Jantsch touts blogging as a, “very easy, very affordable method to connect with your prospects and integrate all of your marketing messages.” Blog posts don’t have to be novels. As long as they are focused on your industry and marketing message, that’s all that matters. You should also post as often as you can – every day, if possible. A great way to make sure this happens is to set aside a couple of hours a day, once or twice a week, and write several blog posts. Almost all blogging platforms have a feature that allows you to schedule your posts, so make friends with this feature. Schedule blog posts to appear daily (or as close to it as possible) and your marketing will be working for you without you thinking about it. Just remember to pop in regularly to read and respond to comments.

Use an autoresponder

Getting people to sign up for a newsletter or service on your website is just the first step. Use an autoresponder to keep your business top of mind. Send a personalized welcome message. Send weekly tips relevant to your industry or business. Offer special deals that nobody else is privy to. With autoresponders, you capture contact info of interested parties you can use to build your database effectively, while marketing to people who actually want to hear what you have to say. The best part is, you can write these messages in advance and schedule them to send when appropriate. Keep in mind two critical things: 1) All messages should be as personal in tone as you can while staying in your comfort zone; and 2) Drive traffic to your website with educational – not hard sales – messages.

(Why only two tips for automating your marketing, you ask? We know you’re too busy for three!)
